My Writing

My vision of the future was
…never this.

I never dreamed of quiet rooms,
of the faces I’d miss,
or of the nights so heavy
that I collapse into the abyss.


I pictured something brighter,

something that I would not resist,
like the love of another,
and a reason why I exist.


I knew - no, I thought
the years ahead ...


I’ve had pieces of my heart stolen

And never got them back.

So I’ve learned to live without,

And got used to what I lack.


I don’t know when love became

Something I learned to fear,

Or why the ones who want me close

Are the ones I won’t let near.


Some days I think I’m hard to love,

Most days it feels too real...



Everyone tells you to
“Take the chance, make a move.
‘No’ is the worst they can say.”

But no is simple.
No is clean.
It ends the sentence.
It doesn’t echo in your head at 3am.

Worse things are said
in drawn-out sighs,
or in the silence of a look that says,
“You’re not worth the weight of my words.”

I love the way love quiets the noise.

I love the peace of knowing they’re near.

I love the little moments that mean everything

and how love makes the world disappear.


I hate how love turns against you.

I hate how comfort grows teeth in the dark.

I hate how someone who feels like home

can leave a crack righ...

of the things that go unheard.


I see it with your distance,

in the way you turn away,

with the things you’ve yet to say.
